Calvary Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma, is excited to announce that we are searching for a new Senior Pastor.

Our congregation is a vibrant and welcoming community dedicated to glorifying God through worship, discipleship, and service. With a strong history of spiritual growth and community engagement, we are seeking a Senior Pastor who feels called to lead us into the next chapter of our ministry.

About the Position:

The Senior Pastor at Calvary Baptist Church will be responsible for providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and vision for our church. This role is crucial in guiding our congregation through preaching, teaching, counseling, and community outreach. We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator, a compassionate shepherd, and a visionary leader with a heart for evangelism, discipleship, and missions.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Preaching and Teaching: Delivering biblically sound sermons that inspire and challenge our congregation to grow in their faith.
• Pastoral Care: Providing compassionate support during times of personal and spiritual challenges, offering guidance rooted in faith.
• Leadership and Vision: Collaborating with church leadership to create and implement a vision for our church’s future, with a focus on spiritual growth and community involvement.
• Church Administration: Overseeing church operations, including staff supervision and budgeting, in partnership with our leadership teams.
• Community Outreach: Leading and participating in initiatives that serve our community and reflect God's love.
• Discipleship: Fostering a culture of spiritual growth, encouraging members to deepen their faith and discipleship.
• Missions: Promoting and supporting mission work, emphasizing the importance of spreading God's grace and love both locally and globally.

Qualifications:

• A clear calling to pastoral ministry and ordained status in the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC).
• Alignment with Southern Baptist doctrinal beliefs and practices.
• A bachelor’s degree, with a preference for formal theological training (MDiv preferred).
• A minimum of 5 years of pastoral experience, ideally in a senior or associate pastor role.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for evangelism, discipleship, and missions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, leadership, and our congregation.
